Sparrowhawk

There has been a juvenile calling in the woods for days and I've not seen it until tonight. It popped out for a little aerial display and a practice attack on a pair of sand martins.

The attack backfired as the martins then promptly attacked it back and sent it down onto a fence post. Great fun to watch. Eventually a parent came out to check up on it.

No animals were hurt in the making of this photo.
