Verbena bonariensis

I sowed these seeds just 4 days ago and they have popped up already. I'm so excited and pleased with this.

I collected the seeds from one of the many gardens that I visited last autumn and carefully dried and stored the seeds over winter.

V. bonariensis is a tall perennial with erect, branching stems to 2m in height, bearing sparse, oblong leaves and large branched clusters of small, purple flowers from summer to autumn.

I plan to grow this along with my rudbeckia, heleniums and asters.

Loved by butterflies and insects.

2cm high just now, 2m high come autumn :-)
