Over mature

The ‘over mature’  dangerous gum tree is finally coming down today. Because there is so little space around it, the whole operation has to be done by climbing and ropes. The process is fascinating and heart stopping to watch. Daniel the climber is so skillful.

By the end of Day 1, the whole crown of the tree has been sawn off in sections and lowered by ropes (extras). The next day’s challenge will be getting the trunk down.
