Learning day by day

Great, if a little wet and cold, day at the zoo!

It rained as we woke, but stopped when we needed to get the tents down, so we were dry but the tents weren't (could be worse). We went and saw the otters, pre-breakfast, both ours and theirs so they were very vocal, and the red pandas. Breakfast of coffee and sausage bap was provided and then we watched as the tigers got their food, alll prior to zoo opening.

We spent the rest of the day animal and people watching. Never ceases to amaze me what different outfits people wear to the zoo. We had lunch outside and the kids got to play on the park. Carys was a little perturbed to find she was mostly too big for the park, but did manage a swing, a zipwire and a spinning thing.

Back home the tents had to be hung out to dry. I washed the inner of my little tent as it smelt awful, hopefully it will survive. All in all a good day. Better weather would have been nice, but that would have made the zoo busier than it already was. I do like Whipsnade as the animals have so much space.
