Figure of Stone

The stones shown in today's blip forms part of one of Dartmoor's ancient stone circles. The large stone to me, seen from this angle, looks like the figure of an old man toiling across the moor - the right arm hanging down, the left arm tucked into the small of his back, the hunched shoulders and the head tilted to one side. The sculptor Henry Moor collected many objects from the natural world in which he found inspiration. This stone could almost be taken as a model for a Henry Moor sculpture. Probably best viewed large.
