Life through the lens...

A walk through the woods.

A warm partly sunny day.
Perfect walking weather and so decided on a walk through Judy Woods.
We haven’t been for a few months. Not much had changed. No more trees cut down, but the ones that were have been left for environmental reasons. ( see notice)
I wouldn’t have thought they needed such a lot of wood, us it is much easier to leave it there than try and move it away.
Very quiet. We noticed there wasn’t the bird song which accompanied our last walk.
On reaching Norwood Green I went In search of a new path which is part of a different walk we will do next time.
Looking up I noticed the sign of the old Brighouse and District Industrial Society
( the Co- Op) and the lovely stone carving of a beehive. This was the society symbol.
Not sure when the shop closed but it has been a house as long as I can remember.
Walked passed so many times and never noticed the beehive before.

Instead of lunch at the Old White Beare we thought we would try The Pear Tree Pub.
Nice to sit outside in the sunshine.
Both chose the pie and peas. Mine was Steak and Ale. Mr C. Chicken and Leek.
Both pies with proper short crust pastry, and large portions. Good value at £5.95.
However we both though food at the other pub was better, so it will be the Old White Beare in future.

Back home and had a cup off coffee sat in the garden. Nice to see 4 different types of butterflies on the buddleia bush.
Then ended up dead heading. When in the garden I can’t sit still for long.
The pots are quite dry, despite the rain, so will be watering again tonight.
