Confused Squirrel

This young squirrel has started to visit from our new peanut bird feeder a lot too often for my liking! Today I saw it out of the window and ran out to the garden, it got quite a fright and froze, seemingly unable to run away. Eventually when I got very close it made a great leap and ran off into a nearby tree.
I have previously blipped (09 June) the mother squirrel feeding upside down from our ‘squirrel-proof’ sunflower seed bird feeder, and we are happy for her to do so as she cleverly worked out how to get to the seeds and she doesn’t do the feeder any damage. I am not however happy at the prospect of the young one chewing through the new feeder to get at the nuts so, a battle of wills has begun!
