Blueberries!!!

These are from Peru but ……..

In Wimborne Dorset David Trehane planted his first blueberries in 1951 . 80 plants came from Lulu Island in British Colombia . They were offered free of charge to any grower who was prepared to trial them . They thrived in the sandy Dorset heathland soil ….in 1957 David took the plunge and planted a whole acre of 1000 plants . He was the only UK grower tosee the potential and plant them commercially !
So when you buy your blueberries you may find they come from Trehane’s Nursery Dorset !
