Ballerina

Jane Powers in her book An Irish Nature Year says that although it is the emblem of West Cork, Fuchsia magellanica is a native of Chile and Argentina. If you snap off the top you can taste the nectar yourself. And if you have children with you you can make a tiny full skirted ballerina. Gently remove the stigma along with six of the eight dangling stamens to just two, which then become her legs.
