On This Day In History
1961: Construction begins on the Berlin Wall

Quote Of The Day
"The Wall was not bought down by Washington, Bonn or Moscow. It was razed to the ground by the courageous and intrepid people, from both the East and the West."
(Gerhard Schroder)

Strong wind and heavy rain today with a severe weather warning in effect, forecast to last until Tuesday. Just as well I have plenty of books to read. Thoroughly enjoying Ball Lightning by the awesome Cixin Liu. So far it is more restrained than Supernova Era while still delivering jaw-dropping ideas and nail-biting excitement; I hope he can maintain this to the end.

Hoping for a thunderstorm to add some atmosphere. It is forecast.

Lightning Strikes
