My friends and other animals

Poor Esra!  Back from the vet after being spayed this morning, Graham and Kat asked if she could stay with me as she was too woozy from the anesthetic to climb the stairs to their apartment (it was still less than two hours since the operation - I'm amazed that the vet didn't keep her in overnight). Unable to lie down while wearing her very large cone, we removed it and all three of us spent the afternoon and evening watching her.  Literally.   Sometimes in shifts with work, reading, tutoring and pool time as alternative occupations.  It was cat central too, as every garden cat visited at some point - whether to say 'get well soon' or see if there was any thing to eat, I really couldn't say....  Harry got so fed up with all these four legged invaders in his space that he went in to the garden, overtly wearing his disapproval for all to see. Simon, on the other hand, had a wonderful time - so many 'friends' to play with - though most of them found him extremely annoying, the way that kittens always do seem to irritate their elders.

Disinclined to cook, and definitely not leaving Esra who even several hours later was still discombobulated, we ordered home delivery from the Taj Mahal in Didim - first time for ages - which we ate on my balcony where we continued to talk in daft voices to Esra until finally she seemed sufficiently compos mentis to make the short walk and flight of stairs up to bed.
