Living In Domes

Busy, busy weeks have gone by recently. Gone are my competition prints (see recent blips) and the work load at err work continues at a frightening rate. All my hourly slots seem to soaked up by very demanding young people. However all of them have kept their appointments (up until now) and have shown full appreciation, which makes Sye a very happy chappy indeed.

The image is of some work carried out by a young chap doing extensive work on 3D modelling using 3 types of CAD/CAM software. We use Styrofoam initially as it is dead easy & quick to cut, followed by a high quality finished model made from the wonderful wood, Jellutong (as shown above). Yes, this was a solid block of Jellutong, to start with! This job (35x120x120mm dome) took a whooping 1hr 22mins to cut............
............during which time is usually spent sipping very high quality filter coffee (see yesterdays blip)
