The new apricot tree

Judy heads to Nigg with Calvin and Holly, while Guy and I take a circular walk from their house. We cover 15km of Heather and bilberry strewn moorland, taking in forestry and lochs and solitary trees in the deer denuded landscape.

This is not the apricot tree - of mythical status in this family as a provider of dried apricots to hungry travellers. That tree has been killed by deer, but this specimen is intact, bark repelling all enemies.
