Descent from Small Water

With the girls were otherwise occupied D and I had a walk up Nan Bield.  The highest and farthest I’ve been for a while, it was good to get some altitude.

On the way back down I dipped into Small Water while D did the honours with a brew.

I liked the colour version of the main pic (on an extra) but I wanted to try out low key mono outdoors. I went as dark as I dared. Thank you to Carolina for hosting Mono Monday.

The view is below Small Water looking down to Haweswater.  The village of Mardale was flooded when they created the reservoir.  The sheep were being gathered in, a snaking white line across the valley bottom with a glint of the parked cars behind.

Another extra is above Small Water.
