Threipmuir and the Pentlands

First day in Edinburgh. Pretty decent weather, sunny most of the time with cloudy intervals.

We spent the morning up around the reservoirs of Harlaw and Threipmuir enjoying one of our regular walks when we’re up here. The purples of heather and rosebay willow herb added to the attraction.

This afternoon we met with Susan’s niece and her three girls in Soughton Park in the city. The two elder girls had a great time racing, jumping and climbing on the play equipment while the 16 month old was content to potter as well as eat.

As the sun was still shining back in Balerno we sat longer than we should have done talking, snacking on nibbles and enjoying a beer. This break is going to do us good. Thank you to all of you who wished us a good holiday.

We have a day out in Fife planned for tomorrow. We will be going to Crail (having been to Elie and Pittenweem last year) amongst other places and fish and chips will (possibly) definitely be involved.
