I Love You This Much!

It's hella windy here in paradise. We walked a couple miles this morning around the perimeter of Bodega Bay, beautiful sparkling blue miles, but I had to tie my big hat on with a scarf. Although we went right past the fried oyster place, we didn't stop to eat because all the seating was outdoors and the wind didn't stop for lunch. Clever creatures, we went back and got the van, which gave us a snug comfy place to eat, plus the chance to go further along the road. Here is a white pelican at the UC Ecological Reserve. When we drove up there were about 15 of them laid out along the shore. Hard to tell exactly what they were, maybe even a big pile of plastic bags, or foam, or gulls. Then they began to wake up, one at a time, first a big stretch and what sure looked like a yawn, then a little miscellaneous grooming, and then a lumbering walk to another part of the beach just a few feet away. We watched all this from the car at the side of the road; entry is not allowed. We are both worn out from the wind, and very happy to have seen these glorious birds.
