Black Swallowtail

We paid our first visit to the Fort River Refuge in many weeks, fairly late on a very hot, sunny afternoon.  For the first time in our memory we encountered many mosquitoes-- in fact so many they drove us out of there. As always it was worse for Marylee, but she's doing much better this evening.

There were essentially no birds, so I am making doing with this very battered swallowtail.  As compensation, here is a much better one, from 2014.  As always with my better camera, the map is marked  automatically through GPS.
