Motion play

For tomorrow’s optional Abstract Thursday theme of ‘Intentional Camera Movement’ or ICM for short I promised to search for a link about doing ICM photography with a phone camera, for those of you who use their phones for Blips. If you Google for ‘ICM photography with phone’ you can find web articles and video tutorials but I found out that most tutorials for this use slow shutter apps. Which is fine, but many of them won’t be free or you’d be bombarded with ads and not everybody wants that. So I did some experimenting without apps on my own iPhone (oldie, 5s) and my IPad. You can actually make ICM images without any extra app help. Just find a subject with nice colours or patterns preferably in a not too bright environment, switch off the ‘live’ function on your camera, aim at your subject and press and hold your camera button while moving the phone, so that the phone camera makes a burst of photos. You can then select any good motion blur images and keep them, or delete them all and try again :-)
If this doesn’t work for you there is another way , ISM instead of ICM ! Intentional Subject Moving.Find yourself a suitable photo subject that you can move in front of the  camera ( fabric, scarves, balloons, a paper fan, anything that’s easy to move) Set your phone or tablet up so it is stationary, again turn off the ‘Live ‘ function , switch on the timer, hold your subject, press the camera button and start moving :-). You’ll get another burst of pictures to choose from when you go to Select. My Blip today is phone ICM of Jack’s playpen with colourful foam tiles underneath, and the extra is an iPad ISM of waving two green and blue scarves in front of it. Have fun trying it out ! Obviously you can also just use your regular camera :-) Tomorrow’s tag is AT321

Thanks so much for the kind comments and stars for yesterday’s pumpkin beginning :-)
