Sipan central

Out on an ebike ride today around Sipan island. Now down to 400 residents from an original high point of 7000 before World War 1, it's interesting to see the decaying summertime villas of the Dubrovnik elite of the past. There are olive trees aplenty, apparently a dowry of ten came with every marriage. We've been told that constitutes a world record olive tree/inhabitants ratio.

This image is on the track back from a spring in the centre of the island which you can descend to via spiral stone steps. It's like descending to the underworld!
