Climbing plant

I think this might be American pokeweed. I had been wanting to take this picture for months, but I kept forgetting. It's sort of near Corner Tavern, one of our regular places we pick up food. But it's on the drive home, so I always remember it when I pass by.

Today I remembered before we got back in the car. While Jill waited for our order, I walked a few streets down and snapped it. This sign is probably 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. That's some climbing that plant did.
