West Head Lookout

A beautiful day weather wise.  We are very lucky here on Sydney's Northern Beaches as the new lockdown rules allow us to travel within our Local Government Area (although travelling as far as we did today is pushing the rules a bit).  Fortunately, our LGA is not only large (254 sq km), it also has 25+ km of ocean coast including 23 beaches ranging from Palm Beach (sort of pictured) down to Manly as well as inland waterways.

Regarding my indulgent (lengthy) blip yesterday about the "cultural divide" in Sydney.... Burwood (by comparison), which has stricter lockdown rules than we do is 7 sq km with nearly 5 times the population density.

This blip shows Barrenjoey Lighthouse in the background which sits above Palm Beach.  Lovers of Australian soap operas may recognise this as being the backdrop for "Home and Away".  I've never watched it but just did some research and I'm gobsmacked to read that it's been running since 1988 (7,631 episodes)!

This shot was taken from West Head which is about 15 km inside a National Park.  We are indeed blessed to live here....
