Calfclose Bay

Friends from Down South, staying in Keswick suggested swimming out to Rampsholme Island from Calfclose Bay then a walk into the town for lunch. Well this sounded like a very perfect day out. What a shame for Mr P that he had to play in a golfing tournament. On our way round the beach we came across this rock.  There was I thinking that some alien rock had landed from outer space but discover its called Centenary Rock and was commissioned by the National Trust in 1995 to celebrate 100 years. I think this was my first swim in Derwent Water which was looking very lovely today.  View from the middle of the lake as we went round the island extra
