Belated decorating

So, about 6 years ago we painted the hall, stairs and landing. The paint on the bannister just peeled off after a few weeks, it just didn't bind but we lived with it calling it shabby chic when in fact it was just plain shabby. Then lockdown came and we had grand designs on painting it properly again. That never happened. I mean there was only us going to.look at it! Then, we got visitors from old friends and in a jiffy the bannister has been painted. Nothing like having people round to spruce up your decor!
