Nutria

On my bike ride this afternoon I saw this nutria high and dry nibbling on what might be a apple.
They are very shy and when it noticed my camera pointed in his direction it ran full speed for the canal.
I was not quite quick enough to properly compose the photo of his great escape.
I like these animals.
