Light the North

Light the North is a stunning, free public art trail of 50 individually designed lighthouse sculptures across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
Designed and pained by professional, emerging and as yet undiscovered artists, it will shine a light across the north east from August to October 2021, encouraging people to explore and discover the region like never before.
Forming a trail of discovery, the sculptures provide an exceptional, creative opportunity to engage people in important topics – from health and wellbeing to history and culture, to name a few.
When the art trail ends, the legacy of Light the North will continue as the sculptures are auctioned to raise funds for Clan Cancer Support.
This lighthouse installation titled, "The Battle", can be seen at Harbour Street in  Peterhead. It was Created by Kekun Studio and is sponsored by the Peterhead Port Authority
The inspiration for the installalation: The Kraken and the lighthouse in battle represent those fearful, dark times we face in our lives and the light, inner strength and resilience we summon to withstand them. The light within us is brighter than the darkness around us.
