Seed heads and cobwebs.

Summer is just about over, nights are getting cooler and the flowers are disappearing. The afternoon sun was shining back through the seed heads of the Marlborough Rock Daisy, and the cobwebs looked silvery. Looked better out in the garden, but sort of looks a bit messy here.
Took the pups for a walk this afternoon on the beach and they found some rotting fish and decided it would be great to eat....... yeah right! They obviously have no sense of smell.
There has been a few birds on the beach lately, but only one heron around today. And Poppy soon made sure there weren't any birds at all. At least she did stop when I yelled at her, but that was too late.
The wood-box out on the deck, that got co-opted into a sleeping place for the pups, is getting close to being required for firewood again. So the Other Half is going to have to make a nice warm place for them to sleep in soon.
We got some photos of Hokey the other day (Hoki, as he is now called) - he has a mate! Our friends have a very, very big pig, called Doris! She stands as high as the Other Half's waist (took a photo of them a few years ago.) Hoki likes to sit on top of her, and Doris thinks that Hoki might make a good entree. Apparently he gets a hard time from their chickens too, but they say he is tough and just goes back for more.
