Jersey Tiger Moth

Yesterday's blip created some problems with identification. Today, there was no mistaking this species. We see Jersey Tiger moths in our garden every year. I caught this one this morning feeding on the buddleia. Usually they see me before I see them and flutter around with their rather clumsy flight, flashing their orange under parts, which remain concealed when they are at rest. Although signs of Autumn are slowly emerging, this image was a reminder that Summer is not yet over.
