Wednesday

Took part in the evening trail run organised by the local club. Stopped for a couple of minutes to admire the strip of sunflowers down the edge of a field adjacent to the footpath (see extra) - another farm involved in conservation, & welcome colour on a very grey evening. From a distance I thought the white flowers were greater bindweed, but when I looked properly they were actually Datura. Not sure if they were meant to be in the seed mix or not. Have always thought it to be poisonous/hallucinogenic & an invasive weed. On searching, it may be a nectar source for moths, but not sure if that relates to the UK. Will have to investigate further!
