Making Grummet

Turned out beautifully sunny just as forecast but with a cool breeze which is actually very good for the farmers many of whom started making hay (in German only first cut is called hay 'Heu', 2nd cut is called Grummet.

Somewhat late started on splitting the large almost 50cm diameter logs from the hail storm felled spruce. As  heaving and lifting them around involves quite a bit of body contact, had to be well-dressed, but the splitter was located in a sheltered spot in direct sunshine. It was boiling!  However, a few hours later and still sunshine, had to wear a heavy fleece jacket for the evening walk.

Angie had been out for the evening meeting friends in a restaurant or as I think more likely in front of a restaurant. Our county, like most in Bavaria, have gone over 50/100,000 case mark and thus restrictions reimposed, and I think they may have had problems being indoors. When she came home, she said no more than I am freezing and going to bed.....!
