It Arrived….14 weeks to the day

As posted earlier, our trip to Europe was looking to be in some jeopardy because of inordinate delays for passport renewals. When Leyna applied in May the passport website stated 6 to 8 weeks for routine renewals. This seemed more than adequate and so we waited…. When she realized last week that it still hadn’t arrived we checked the website which now stated 18 weeks. Contact with our member of Congress, emails to expedite, 2 long 2 hour waits on the phone later an email arrived on Monday saying the passport had been overnighted to us. Yesterday we received notice that the package had been delayed because of a problem with UPS - but today it finally came - much to the delight of the bearer!
