Kereru on Broom
Kereru is the New Zealand endemic pigeon. Also called a Wood Pigeon. They are quite bold and not shy about tucking in in the presence of Cameras. This one was feeding on the flowers and fresh shoots of a Broom bush. They gorge themselves on native berries like Titoki and Tawa in season then can't fly properly because they are either overweight or drunk!
