Clearing the snow

When I woke this morning, the snow was still falling thick and fast. In the early morning I heard what at first I thought was thunder, but turned out to be these guys clearing last night's snow off the roads. Over a foot had fallen on flat surfaces. They scrape the roads, load it all into these huge lorries, and dump it in the sea. Meanwhile, traffic continues as normal, with no panic, no skidding, and no disruptions! More images over on my Iceland album on Picasa for those interested.
