Boat Pool Bridge

….. (Bridge 60A), on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal near Haigh Plantations was built to separate the canal from Wigan Rowing Club, set up in 1872 for rowers to use the canal for leisure purposes. The boathouse is long gone, but the solid stone bridge endures and is a familiar sight for boaters and pedestrians alike passing through the Plantations.
