Duckling Hatch

They're a couple of days behind schedule but at last they are trying to hatch!

4 of them are making a good job of trying to break out and another is coming out the wrong end of the egg so I've broken some bits off it's shell to give it some air and wrapped it in a damp cloth as advised on a duck keeping forum.

This hatching business is stressful, more than I ever imagined. The Bros are beside themselves with excitement, trepidation and desperation. They have the brooder and duckling food all ready.

Eeek!!

Let's hope some of them make it out their shells and we have some little ducklings to raise.
