It's a Formula One weekend but not on this rubber!

This tyre, a left rear, was used by Gerhard Berger on a Benetton B196 in Estoril Portugal during a test session in 1996. The test took place in January with the race being held in September the penultimate race of the season with Berger finishing fifth and his team mate Jean Alesi finishing third. This tyre was bought as a gift for my son who on getting married and leaving home gifted it to me and has been used as a coffee table ever since.
