English Country Garden - NOT

"Not" is the German word for distress, emergency.... for example "Notruf " is emergency call.If you have a shortage of people, for instance lorry drivers, you would say "Not am Mann".

For a Brit, it is impossible to even dream of having something like an English Country Garden in Germany. If you are married to a German, the courts will not even accept it as grounds for divorce when you show them photos such as today's. You either shut up or try to swim the Channel.

Angie tying up a wild thistle carefully so that none of the storms has a chance of destroying it. I think she probably likes Scotland too, but has not actually set foot there. Lake District & Durham the closest.

Another miserable, day, I hate to say autumnal as autumn is often lovely here. Cold & wet. Met MrB this evening out on the evening walk which brightened things up a bit and in a spell where the sun, as it came to rest in  the west, did actually appear. MrB who is a very hardy outdoor type, started the conversation with "It's cold today".

I learnt on Blip many years ago of the Scottish word "Dreich". Think that will do as a one-worder for today.
