Took myself to Newton Abbot today.

Not a seaside resort, thank goodness, but a proper town with a museum! I headed there, as I'm a bit of a museum nerd. Lots of interesting stuff, eg on the development of the railway (see extra), but this is what stopped me in my tracks.
Dr Arthur Hurst was a pioneer in the humane treatment of WW1 soldiers with PTSD, many of whom had been shot or imprisoned for failing to fight. His film is a revelation - he treated them with kindness,  therapies and understanding, and achieved great results.
