TM went into the loft today to put away the beds and bedding that we had out for the visitors. He discovered evidence of another sort of visitor ...

We had a huge wasps' nest removed from there a few weeks back. It appears that we have had several colonies living up there over the years. These must have been deserted some time ago, and were in various states of decay.

When he removed them, he discovered that they had eaten into the wood that lines the underside of the roof, some neat holes about 30 cm in diameter.  

Time to send for the roofer again (sigh ......)
