Phillipshill

We were at Phillipshill Cemetery today to witness the internment of our friend Margaret Cowban, who sadly passed away last week.

Margaret and I were friends for a long time, since the eighties in fact, as we worked together then.  When we formed Duncanrig Ramblers, Margaret and her late husband George joined within the first year and we had many great walks for a long number of years.  

And we met up again at country dancing, and Margaret became a very enthusiastic committee member of the ceilidh club, running weekends away for members.

Her two daughters and family hosted a reception at Torrance Hotel after the internment, and we had the chance to speak with them and share many happy memories and some funny moments in the years gone by.  

It was a large funeral as Margaret was an active member of our town, and it was good to catch up with a lot of friends.  And to offer comfort to her girls and families.
