Nicky and her Nikon

Somewhere in France

We had a 4am alarm wake up and were on the road by 4.45am, to drive back to the UK. It was a relatively easy drive with no traffic, and after a few stops we got to the Eurotunnel in time to get the 4.20pm crossing. When you travel with a pet you go directly to the pet check in, where they check the human details too - this time they did check our passenger locator forms and evidence of our pre-travel Covid PCR tests.  The boys and their girlfriends flew home, and they said that on check in at Zurich airport they barely looked at their pre-travel PCR test certificates, and on arriving at Heathrow no one checked their passenger locator form. Perhaps it is linked to their passport and all done automatically?

The countryside through France looked lovely with sunflower fields and vineyards - however it is not easy to stop anywhere scenic and so this is a drive by shot from the motorway.

It's a long journey and Xena is a very good traveller, but when we pulled up to our house she was squealing in excitement as she recognised where we were and I think happy to be home again. We are all a bit tired form the journey.

Back to reality tomorrow as life gets back to normal plus the usual chores of settling in at home again - food, laundry etc.
