Thor's Cave

Another walk in The Peak District today. It was a bit grey and grim but dry.

We started at Ilam Park heading up out of the valley towards Castern Hall. We walked through Castern Wood, a beautiful hillside nature reserve managed by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

We tramped along the Manifold Way, expecting to share it with lots of cyclists but it was relatively quiet. We then headed up over higher ground to return to Ilam. It was about 11 miles in total and a great route for all weather. We were joined by a friend who's planning a walk along the Llangollen Canal in September.
