Soon to be thistledown!

There are so many creeping thistles up at the Heritage Park and with some careful observation and poking about among the very prickly stems you can catch the seeds heads just before the final explosion takes place and the seeds are carried off in the wind.

This ball rather reminded me of an allium but the colour is not quite right and the wind borne seeds are on the outside just waiting for the big fly past.
