Rhondda Valley

Took a drive into the Rhondda Valley today. Beautiful scenery. When we stopped at this vantage point one of the locals came to say hello although I think it was more interested in my ice cream! Someone arrived with a bag of carrots and a whole crowd of sheep came for their share.
Came back by Aberfan and took a walk around the graveyard to see the memorial to those killed in the Aberfan disaster on21st October 1966. (See extras) For those who don’t know a slag heap slid down the hillside and swamped a primary school killing most of the teachers and children.
