Slateford Viaduct

This morning's run went west along the Union Canal crossing the Slateford Aqueduct from where you get a great view of the Viaduct opposite.   The 14 arch Slateford Railway Viaduct was built in 1847 by Caledonian Railways.  We turned off at Kilncroft Side crossing the Lanark Road footbridge to get down to the Colinton Dell and make our way back.

In the afternoon, I met my pal M. for coffee and cake to mark her winning the Ladies Bowls Singles Championship.  We had a beautiful hot sunny afternoon for sitting outside at Soderberg Pavilion Cafe.  She's off to do the Tiree Ultra this weekend - 35 miles.  Gulp!
