Egg Shell

I took a few photo's in the garden, but when I went out for a walk I spotted this Eggshell in the road; so I picked it up to look at it.
Inside there are red bloody veins, so I wonder did the chick live.
Is this a fresh Eggshell & the baby kicked it off into the road.
Seems a little late for new baby birds to hatch.
Who popped out of this shell?
