But, then again . . . . .

The Return of the Balloons.

Not a good blip today, the grand plan was to use these birthday balloons and compare and contrast with their first appearance on BlipFoto on the 19th of July last year. The combination of metallic surfaces, erratic lighting and a shortage of time rather defeated me. When they were first brought to The Old Lady's home they hung upwards, erect and proud, from their anchor on the floor; over the intervening months, their helium slowly leaked away and they slowly sunk to the floor. At this stage someone took sympathy on them and hung them from a picture hook while the deflation continued until they reached this sorry state; there they remained, dejected and forlorn

Not a good blip, in fact not a good day.
TOL had to go to the bank to settle a few financial matters this morning, it was a tiring meeting. After the carer had put her to bed tonight she started complaining of chest pains, she's done that several times while I've been staying but this time they seemed a little more ominous. By the time I had finished talking to NHS24 a paramedic was banging on the front door, she took a history, did some tests and we waited for the ambulance.

Sis had expected TOL to give her a row for allowing me to make the phone call but, no, she realised it needed to be done. In due course she amazed the assembled medics stating that "of course she could walk down the stairs and out to the ambulance," amazement turned to incredulity when she did so, although she did accept a supporting arm on each side for the walk to the front gate. Sis has gone with her to hospital, I remain to hold the fort at the house.

Although she seems remarkably well and is still displaying her usual indomitable spirit, TOL is a frail old lady with many chronic health problems. She will continue to stubbornly refuse to accept them and we will continue to support her.

Oh, and the hairdresser came just before lunch for the weekly free hairdo, so at least she's looking her best.
