Project 365 day 246: late summer flowers

It was lovely to see the sun today after a lot of gloomy days and to dry the laundry outside. I was frustrated to be indoors till after five and left with no time for the wildflower walk I had planned. However, a little wander around the edges of the orchard provided a splash of colour for the last Wildflower Week of the year, as well as a couple of extras to celebrate the end of the season. Many thanks to Miranda for hosting the Wildflower Weeks, which have been a great pleasure to take part in and to browse throughout the spring and summer, and to Biker Bear for her longstanding hosting of Flower Friday. This has been our second summer of shielding and, more recently, continued cautious limitation of contacts and avoidance of crowds; documenting the seasonal changes in my garden has been one of my most important small pleasures, and has helped to reconcile me both to spending so much time at home and to our failure to manage the weeds in the garden and orchard.
