Art/garden trail in Sudbury

On our first day meandering around Boxford, we saw a poster for Artists Open Studios in Sudbury this weekend, and decided that would make a good focus for visiting Sudbury.

We parked at an art gallery on the outskirts, and walked along the River Stour into the centre.  By the time we arrived, I was ready for a cuppa, so our first destination was a cafe, where I actually ended up having a glass of wine - but isn't that what holidays are about?

We then found our way to the first of the Open Studios, where W was particularly taken with the garden, and spent most of his time out there whilst I looked around the studio.  The artist had some lovely bits of ceramic art, but I have to admit that I too was taken with her garden, and really liked this totem in her meadow area.  I may have to steal this idea!

We then walked on to another courtyard, where 4 artists were displayed.  Once again, W spent more time in the garden, but amazingly, one of the artists turned out to be the sister of one of his work colleagues from the early 80s.

After spending some time there, we decided we were "arted" out, and walked back to the car.

Another really pleasant, holiday, day.
