Noup Head, Westray

A beautiful day on Westray looking for autumn migrants. I saw distant groups of waders, most of which will have recently arrived either to stay until spring or just on a brief stop before carrying on south. Black-tailed and bar-tailed godwits, dunlin, sanderling, ringed plover etc plus a couple of hen harrier and a willow warbler, the only warbler I saw. On my last trip to the island (July 25th) I took some shots of figures that were part of an RNLI fund-raising competition and the extra is one  missed. I like the welcome she extends.
