A view from St Swithin

On the railway line

In 1904 a railway line was opened between Crieff and Balaquidder , where it joined the Callander to Oban line. The line closed in 1951 but you can still walk or cycle parts of the line today. We walked a section today high above Loch Earn and marvelled at the engineering involved in building this line across a steep section of hillside.
